Carnivorousflora is a New York City-based artist known for his unique and captivating animated paintings of carnivorous flora. Growing up in the city, Carnivorousflora was exposed to the exciting, stimulating sights and sounds of the urban landscape from an early age, which greatly influenced his art. His love for making art began at a very young age with crayons on the living room wall. Later, he was particularly influenced by the lines, design, and color of NYC’s graffiti, which he channeled into his work filling many art pads. As he grew older he began experimenting with different mediums and techniques, eventually finding his niche in creating and painting his unique hybrid species of carnivorous plants. 

After completing his studies in art, the artist known as Carnivorousflora went on to spend 28 years as an art teacher in the NYC public school system, where he taught art to students with special needs. It was during this time that he honed his skills and developed his unique style, and at the same time, he was able to give back to the community by passing on his knowledge and passion for art.

Recently, Carnivorousflora has gained recognition for his lively carnivorous flora paintings and numerous murals. Mimicking nature, he creates floral patterns that take on figurative traits intertwined with bold geometric shapes, creating exciting (literally) eye-popping compositions. His work is known for its vivid colors, bold lines, and a sense of movement and energy, which he attributes to the bustling energy of the city. He has painted striking, colorful paintings and murals that bring life to a surreal landscape, creating immersive and engaging compositions that invite viewers to interact and connect with them. His murals can be seen in various neighborhoods in NYC, adding a touch of color and vibrancy to the city.
